Henry Altemus Art Nouveau Bindings | Holmes & Dumas | 1890sI favor late 19th century books published by Altemus for their wonderful, decorative bindings. This pair from the 1890s has a beautiful, art nouveau style design with poppies and gilding. The titles are Poems by Oliver Wendell Holmes & Camille by Alexandre Dumas. Condition is good with some minor wear from age and handling around the edges and covers. Sold as a pair, as is.

The base and the cross are two pieces and you can adjust the cross by swiveling it this way or that

The book is bound in plain brown cloth covers with red lettering

so I am thrilled to have another one at the shop
