This was done as most are running Lowrance 2D transducers and swapping out to the much better TM150 and by building the bracket with the Lowrance bolt pattern it prevents drilling more holes in the hull of the boat

The mount comes with our "short" upper bracket and allows the user to mount it up higher on the transom while using previously drilled holes in the hull
