Sarracenia leucophylla var. alba 'Hurricane Creek White' - Clone 3A (Baldwin County, Alabama) MK-L144F
Description
Sarracenia leucophylla var. alba 'Hurricane Creek White' - Clone 3A (Baldwin County, Alabama) MK-L144FThe 'Hurricane Creek' cultivar name can be applied to Sarracenia leucophylla var. alba clones, or their seeds, that were found at the Hurricane Creek site in Baldwin County, Alabama. Sadly, the natural Hurricane Creek White site was ploughed to create a pine tree plantation, destroying the Sarracenia population. A few pockets of Sarracenia leucophylla may remain, but the most spectacular clones now only exist in hobbyists collections.
giving the plant a rugged
It is a great example of the diversity found within the Sarracenia purpurea species
Some pitchers may occasionally display slight green patches on their hoods
this variety has no trigger hairs inside its traps
The petioles
Growth is vigorous
while the deeper colour and solid build come from purpurea
The base ranges from soft green to yellow-green
you won't be disappointed
forming a darker red area below the lid
This is due to its grand stature and shape
We would argue that this Sarracenia is far prettier than many deemed worthy of having a registered name
