AfghaniteThis stone is one of the best examples of GEM FACET GRADE Afghanite that we've had to offer. It's a very good quality specimen that displays well and would fit nicely into any collection

I acquired this piece from my father when I was about 15 years old

as it's hard enough to find ONE un-repaired crystal on matrix

it’s difficult to know for certain

A very small nick on the top of the piece is the only spot of damage that I can see on the display side (the piece is incomplete on the back where it detached from the pocket wall)

outside of the base of the crystal where it detached from the pocket wall

but there was a very limited find of some of the finest quality crystallized examples of the species in the early 1970s in Brazil
