Anthurium veitchiiThis is one of our all time favorite Anthuriums. Native to Columbia, it is often called the King Anthurium. This magnificent species can grow up to 6ft long! These are quite easy in comparison to their velvety cousins, although are VERY slow growers. Care: These Anthurium will do best in a bright filtered light while taking care to avoid any harsh direct sun. Water when the soil is roughly 1" 2" dry from the top. This may roughly be 7 10 days

To say their big foliage is quite regal is an understatement

so water as the top 1"-2" of soil starts to dry

They love direct sun if you have it but a bright room will do just as good

use a coarse cacti soil

Dischidia hirsuta is high on the list of cool Dischidia to add to a collection

This may be every 7-10 days for a small size such a this one

Water when the top 2-3" of soil is dry

which gives it a textured

it also makes for a good holiday tree

This particular species is native to parts of the Philippines

They do not like too much share though

use a semi-coarse soil that will drain water well
