James Bond's Aston Martin DB5 Silver Grille Edition (270)Issued in 1968 in the wake of the success of the gold Corgi 261, the all new Corgi 270 gave fans what theyd been calling for a James Bond Aston Martin DB5 in silver, just like the original movie car. It was produced in a slightly larger 1: 43 scale as opposed to Corgi 261s 1: 46 to allow for two exciting new features: revolving number plates and pull out rear wheel tyre slashers. However, it thankfully retained the earlier models iconic ejector seat

it was revamped with Whizzwheels – no longer with a detachable chassis and in green paintwork – although the two-tone livery still appeared on the box illustration

Eight more were delivered in 1944

which just happened to be the colour of the version in Gift Set 2

It was initially available in two guises – as Corgi 211 (in blue with gold fin detailing)

The Batmobile comes complete with its late 1960s-era packaging – a classic illustrated Corgi picture box that houses the model sitting on a plinth with decorative winged sides and back – a beautifully created facsimile of the original
