Antique Tunbridge Box - Gorgeous Victorian 1878 with Provenance Grand TourThis is a beautiful antique Tunbridge Ware box dated to 1878 Malta and evidently purchased as part of a Grand Tour. It is beautifully crafted with floral mosaic to the top and geometric borders on the top and sides as shown. It opens nicely and to the base is a lovely dedication of From Tommy to His Father Malta 1878 and with charming little inked kisses as a border. To the inside it is also dated and with Malta. It is in the shape of a frog with lots of character and detail and likely to date to 1930s-1950s

It has a beautiful silver blade and a stunning exterior in carved mother of pearl with decorations to each side including a blank cartouche

There is a celluloid cover to each side and presently a very nice photograph of a sailor likely from the Edwardian/WW1 era
