Mahogany and Gold Sandwiched Wedding RingJune 2008 Mahogany, 14 karat yellow gold For my friend Matt's wedding, we came up with this ring of two pieces of 14K yellow gold sandwiching a piece of mahogany. The whole assembly is riveted together in the four cornersthe ring is completely cold forged; no torch or bonding agent was used in the process. He had seen the Princess Cuff that I'd done in the early Aughts

that it formed at the same time as the Earth

We placed a tiny diamond below the central sapphire between each pair of antlers to represent the shed spreader in a traditional antler mounting

but to round out and polish the sides of the stone to create the shade for the lamp
