Timorese ancestor figures W09-32Very couple is from West Timor. They represent a married couple and on their heads are totems representing their family lineage. These figures are kept in a spirit house. We collected them in 1990 and this is the first time we have put them on sale The taller figure is 67 cm

all characteristic of the gagah or dugangan characters

but I am unsure of their origin
