Description
Riding Habit Print | Honoré Daumier | Les bas-bleus | 1844Wonderful Victorian print from Honor Daumiers famous Les bas bleus series of satirizing advancements in womens rights. The Bluestockings were a society of women who were educated, talented, and independent in some way who wanted to help support each others pursuits. The print was first featured in Le Charivari in 1844. It depicts a woman in a riding habit admiring herself in a mirror while her husband looks on with a concerned gaze. C'est singulier il
some minor tears
early 20th century antique drawstring purse made from black velvet
Like most of the examples that come my way
This tiny Victorian mourning book measures just 4 inches tall and has black embossed boards with a gilded spine and cover
but in direct light you can see it’s very dark blue
The vestments are in very good condition save for some separation of the trim on the capelet
Relatively lightweight and easy to hang
only it’s a larger print and features a colorful die cut in the center in the shape of a funeral flower arrangement
vessel would have been a salt cellar
You could very well rig it up with a new fixture if you have the skills or patience… I do not
The box is in excellent condition with no cracks & sturdy hinges
you’d think you were on an acid trip
