Maharshi Patanjali - Stone StatueMaharishi Patanjali was known to be an avatar of Adi Shesha, cosmic serpent upon which Vishnu rests. He is known to be the father of Yoga as he compiled Yoga Sutras. It is believed that the yoga sutras were written around 200 BC. He discovered Ashtanga Yoga. He has also written Ayurveda, an ancient medicine science of India. He is also the writer of a commentary on Mahabhasya, Paninis Ashtadyayi.
