Sz 42 (US Men's 8.5) 1970s Ballangrud Speed Skates from *Norway*Ivar Ballangrud was a Norwegian speed skater who won a whopping 3 gold medals in the 1936 Winter Olympics in Garmisch Partenkirchen, Germany. After retirement he worked in sporting goods retail, and lent his name to a successful brand of speed skates. These are an example of them, which we picked up from an estate sale guy in Bergen. While we are not speed skating experts, we reckon that this pair hails from the 1970s or so based on our watching a few
