Almandine Garnet
Description
Almandine GarnetAlmandine Garnets are some of the most vivid and beautiful gems in the Garnet family, plus they're harder to find than Grossular, Spessartine or Rhodolite. Almandines are beloved for their great red to purple red color and larger sized stones. This gem is very attractive with a notably saturated red color, virtually eye clean clarity and a standard "Oval Brilliant" cut. It was cut from a piece rough mined in the 1950s and brought back to the United
Sodalite is a very durable stone and that's why it is so popular among dealers and collectors alike
This stone shows a great color change with a steel-gray / lilac tone under 5000K LED lighting which shifts to a beautiful pinkish color under warmer temperature indoor lights and actually shows a wonderful GREENISH-BLUE color in sunlight (not pictured)
Specimen # CUNM72004
inclusions are almost always present and accepted by dealers and collectors
All three of the crystals are doubly terminated
Keep in mind that the majority of Copper from Corocoro is not crystallized whatsoever
pinkish-orange
The piece is notably gemmy / transparent and really looks good with a bit of backlighting to see in the insect inclusions
save for a very small contact on one edge
A minor amount of attached black Goethite can be seen on the base of the piece that makes for a great touch
Hard to photograph
This is about as showy and aesthetic as it gets for Brookite
