この主観的な地図帳（アトラス）は、長きにわたり外部の視点によって定義されてきた国に暮らす人々による、個人的なマッピングをまとめたもの。本書は、民族的な区分や政治的統一、あるいは戦時中の物語へと還元されてきた、ボスニア・ヘルツェゴビナを舞台に制作されました。ボスニア・ヘルツェゴビナ紛争の終結から30年が経過した今もなお、この国は「デイトン合意」による複雑な政治体制や民族間の分断、そして戦争の記憶という外部からの客観的なフィルターを通して語られます。本書に収録されるのは、国境線や地形図ではなく、今日の人々がこの場所でどのように暮らし、記憶し、想像しているかの視覚的な記録です。ボスニア・ヘルツェゴビナ各地で開催された参加型ワークショップを通じて制作された寄稿作品は、ドローイング、コラージュ、写真、ストーリーテリングによって構成されています。
